Fall Detection & Alerting In The CHUFFTY APP
Fall detection on mobile phones is crucial for elderly individuals living alone, as falls are one of the leading causes of injury among seniors.
With fall detection technology, immediate alerts can be sent to family members or caregivers, ensuring timely assistance.
This not only provides peace of mind to the elderly, knowing that help is readily available, but also to their relatives, who can stay informed and respond quickly in case of an emergency.
Such technology enhances safety and fosters independence while reducing anxiety for both the elderly and their loved ones.
The CHUFFTY APP includes fall detetction - There are two modes of alerting.
Mode 1: Free, an alert is sent to a nominated email address 30 seconds after a fall is detected.
Model 2: With subscription, an email and up to three SMS numbers will be alerted 30 seconds after a fall is detected.
30 Second Delay:There is a 30 second delay to allow the user to cancel the alert if the detected fall was actually a dropped device or false alarm.
NOTE: To detect the fall, the device must be physically with the person as the detection is via motion sensors in the device.
Fall Detection is currently in the iPhone version only. It will be availablin the Android version in the next few weeks.
